Teaching

"Alice was very helpful at looking at my code/ responding to emails/ accommodating. Her TA lab sections were always very helpful and she was open to answering and helping with any questions I had."

"Alice was literally the best. She was so sweet and so kind. I can't even begin to emphasize how amazing she was."

"Alice was always willing to help me. Sometimes I felt really stupid asking a question, but the way Alice received it encouraged me to continue seeking help

when I needed it. She made the course so much better and I learned way better and way more from this class thanks to her."

HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL

Graduate Teaching Fellow Fall 2023 – Present

As a teaching assistant for the graduate course Foundations of Biomedical Informatics I I provide support to students in the course, answering questions and grading assignments. I lead weekly office hours and also assist with syllabus revisions and additional course logistics.

UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO BIOSCIENCES

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Spring 2021 – June 2022

As a teaching assistant for the upper-level Mathematical Methods for Biological Sciences course, I led in-person computer lab sessions to assist students in completing weekly python coding assignments. I explained concepts related to creating dynamic models in discrete time, performing graphical analysis of linear and nonlinear ordinary differential equations, bifurcations, matrix structures for discrete time models, conducting analysis through eigenvalues, and the linearization of nonlinear ODEs. It was an honor to work with these students, provide feedback, and gain an even better understanding of the material through teaching.

As a teaching assistant for the Introduction to Quantitative Modeling in Biology course, I had the pleasure of instructing and providing feedback to my 20 student lab section. I led virtual computer labs to assist in student’s completion of weekly R coding assignments, explaining concepts from variable assignment to for-loops to defining functions. Students were ultimately able to create models that tracked logistic population growth as well as applying markov chains to simulate pandemic behavior.

JUNI LEARNING

Math Instructor September 2020 – February 2022

I work as a math instructor for students in elementary and middle school. The classes are one-on-one, and I plan lessons for students on an individual basis following a course outline. I have instructed students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry courses, assigning and reviewing weekly homework assignments. I greatly enjoy instilling confidence in student’s mathematical abilities and watching them become masters of the material.
